FAQ

Straight answers, in plain English.

Privacy, signatures, Cover, prices and the Windows release — the questions people ask most. Click a question to open the answer.

Are my files uploaded?

No. Your PDF is opened, changed and saved on your own device. It is never sent to us or to anyone else. There is no upload step, and no copy of your file is stored on a server.

Do I need an account?

No account, no sign-up, no password to remember. Open the app and start working. There is nothing to log in to and no profile to fill in.

Does it work offline?

Yes. Your files are handled on your device, so editing does not need an internet connection. The web version is built to keep working offline once it has loaded.

Is hushleaf free?

Yes. The web version is free. A paid Pro version with extra features is planned for later.

Will there be an app?

Yes. Android and Windows apps are planned, then iPhone and iPad. No dates yet.

Which devices can I use it on?

Today: the free web version runs in your browser on desktop and phone.

Apps: Android and Windows apps are planned first, then iPhone and iPad. A Mac app is planned for later. None of them is available yet.

When is the Windows app coming?

A Windows app is planned, but there is no date yet. The free web version launches 30 November 2026.

Is the signature legally valid?

A drawn or image signature in hushleaf is a visual signature. It is not a certificate-based digital signature (DSC), and it is not a replacement for one.

For many everyday documents, a visible signature is what the other person expects. But if a law, a bank, a government portal or an organisation asks for a DSC, a visual signature may not be accepted. If you need legal certainty, check with the organisation asking for it.

Certificate digital signatures (DSC) are planned for later.

Does Cover delete text?

No. Cover hides text from view. The text is still in the file underneath the cover, so it can still be found or copied by someone who knows how.

Cover is useful when you want something out of sight, but it is not a secure way to take sensitive information out of a document. Real text removal is planned for Pro.

Does it support Hindi?

Not yet. Hindi and other Indian scripts, and the ₹ symbol, inside edited text are coming soon. Today, the editing tools focus on text already in your PDF and on Latin-script typing.

How small can it compress a PDF?

You can choose a target of 100 KB, 200 KB, 500 KB or 1 MB. This is handy for government forms, job portals and exam applications that ask for a specific size.

The final size depends on the file and the images inside it. hushleaf never makes a file bigger than it already was.
