Terms of Use
The plain-English rules for using hushleaf and this website.
Last updated: 30 October 2026
These terms are an agreement between you and Zenticor LLP (LLPIN to be added, registered office available on request at support@hushleaf.app) ("we", "us") for your use of the hushleaf website and web app at hushleaf.app ("hushleaf"). By using hushleaf you agree to these terms. If you don't agree, please don't use it.
1. What hushleaf is
hushleaf is a free tool for viewing and working with PDF files and images. It runs in your browser and processes your files on your own device. See our Privacy Policy.
2. Who can use it
You can use hushleaf without an account. If you are under 18, please use it with the permission of a parent or guardian.
3. Your files are yours
You keep all rights in your files. We don't receive them and we claim no rights in them.
You are responsible for your files and what you do with them. Keep your own copy of anything important before you edit it. Because your files never reach us, we cannot recover a lost or damaged file.
4. Use hushleaf lawfully
You agree not to use hushleaf to:
- forge, alter or falsify any document in order to deceive anyone, including government IDs (such as Aadhaar or PAN), certificates, mark sheets, invoices, bank statements or signed documents;
- sign a document in someone else's name without their permission;
- remove a password from, or edit, a file that you don't have the right to open or change;
- break any law, or infringe anyone's copyright or other rights.
Misusing documents can be a crime under Indian law (for example under the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita 2023 and the Information Technology Act 2000), and the responsibility is yours alone.
5. Important limits of the tools
Please read our Disclaimers. In short:
- Cover hides, it doesn't delete. Text under a cover may still be in the file and can be recovered by others. Don't rely on it to remove secret information.
- Editing a digitally signed PDF (for example from DigiLocker) breaks its digital signature, and the file may no longer be accepted as genuine.
- Size and pixel targets are best efforts. Compression and photo resizing try to hit the size you choose but can't always reach it. Always check the result meets the rules of the portal you are uploading to.
6. Our name and the app
The hushleaf name, logo, design and the app's own code belong to Zenticor LLP. You may use the app freely, but you may not copy, sell or pass off hushleaf or its branding as your own. Parts of hushleaf are open-source software used under their own licences; see Open-Source Notices. Nothing in these terms limits your rights under those licences.
7. Free service, provided "as is"
hushleaf is provided free of charge, "as is" and "as available". To the extent the law allows, we make no promise that it will be error-free, always available, or suitable for any particular purpose, or that a file it produces will be accepted by any portal, office or person. We may change, pause or stop any feature at any time.
8. Limit of our liability
To the extent the law allows:
- we are not liable for any loss of data or files, loss of profit, or any indirect or consequential loss arising from your use of hushleaf; and
- our total liability to you for anything relating to the free web app is limited to ₹1,000.
Nothing in these terms limits liability that cannot be limited under Indian law, or your rights as a consumer under the Consumer Protection Act 2019.
9. Indemnity
If you misuse hushleaf in breach of section 4 and someone makes a claim against us because of it, you agree to cover our reasonable losses and costs from that claim.
10. Changes to these terms
We may update these terms. The date at the top shows the latest version. If you keep using hushleaf after a change, the new terms apply.
11. Law and disputes
These terms are governed by the laws of India. The courts at the city where Zenticor LLP is registered have exclusive jurisdiction, without affecting any right you have to approach a consumer commission. Before going to court, please write to us first (Grievance and Contact) so we can try to fix it.
